Amey Gentile-CardulloAmey Gentile-Cardullo was born in Rhode Island and graduated from University of Rhode Island. As a student, Amey gained active experience in legal and political science, working as an intern in the offices of Senator Claiborne Pell and Congressman (now Senator) Jack Reed. In law school, Amey served as an intern for the RI Public Defender’s Office, and as a clerk at the Inns of Court in London, England.

Upon earning her law degree from Roger Williams University School of Law, Amey worked as an Americorps attorney at Pine Tree Legal Assistance in Bangor, Maine. She represented clients in family law cases and presented workshops on protection from abuse orders and how clients can better access the legal system. It was here that Amey felt her mission became clear: to help families in all their legal issues, so that the law might be a part of the healing process for women and children undergoing divorce and other domestic issues.

True to her passion, Amey went on to become a Staff Attorney at Rhode Island Legal Services in Newport. There, she represented clients in cases involving family and housing law, in both District and Superior Court. She also served on the board for Childhood Lead Action and met with organizations as an educator and keynote speaker on law-related subjects.  As a member of the Child Support Guideline Taskforce Committee, Amey was responsible for drafting the Rhode Island Child Support Guidelines for Rhode Island.

Today, Amey carries out her goal of practicing law for the benefit and betterment of families as President of the Family Law Center of Rhode Island.
